Laser Finishing Apparel:
Levi’s Project F.L.X. (Future Lead Execution)As an innovation developer and laser designer, I pioneered groundbreaking techniques and technologies utilizing digital platforms and tools in collaboration with a vibrant creative innovation team at Levi Strauss & Co.
Initiated the illustration and design of prints, patterns, filters, graphics, and finishes, integrating Jeanologia’s cutting-edge eMark laser technology and digital tools to bring adaptable laser finishing techniques to life.
This eliminated over 1,000 chemicals used in jean production, reduced finishing times from several hours to just a couple of minutes, and allowed Levi’s to make more of what they sell.
Using Jeanologia laser equipment, I designed patterns in Adobe Photoshop and imported them into the machine's eMark software.
I have extensive experience designing and operating this equipment. I also serve as our team's liaison for troubleshooting and provide valuable feedback for updates.
Development process trails were done with varying laser intensities and pattern adjustments on different washes of denim until the desired results were achieved.
Laser finishing is done flat on a table vs the mannequin each having different advantages.
Various finishing techniques can be done faster and more sustainably with laser.
Natural wear patterns, damages, and even false patches and graphics were designed to be marked on the fabric with the laser. The results after washing speak for themselves.
